We meet on the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Who is MPP and what do we do?
About: Move Past Plastic (MPP) is a grassroots organization in central Pennsylvania sponsored by TLC Foundation, founded on June 7th, 2021. We are a collective of individuals, businesses, and organizations working to mitigate the toxic impacts of plastic through education and the implementation of practical solutions.MPP offers resources, education, and support to communities, businesses, and municipal leaders to help them understand the complexities of the single-use plastic (SUP) crisis and move toward a regenerative economy. We seek systemic changes through local ordinances, zoning, legislation, land and water management, the formation of regenerative businesses, and personal lifestyle changes. Creating and utilizing alternatives to single-use plastic without regrettable substitutes, while focusing on reuse and repair businesses, will help us transition to a regenerative economy. This is crucial for reducing consumption, waste, microplastics, and chemical toxicities that enter our watersheds, thereby supporting healthy ecosystems and human health..
Mission:
Help communities understand the complexities of the single-use plastic (SUP) crisis and move toward a regenerative economy by offering resources, education, and support to communities, businesses and municipal governance to change legislation and ordinances, use SUP alternatives, and decrease consumption and waste.
Vision:
Promote moving away from single-use plastics and toward a regenerative, circular economy with a mutualistic relationship with nature and respect for all people. What does it mean to subscribe to be a member or partner?A member is an individual who wants to be informed about the single- use plastic (SUP) crisis.
